family: rios family portrait session

what a wonderful day to be shooting photos! again, the best experiences for me are when I'm able to connect with my clients. here we have rios family - eddie, patty, and adorable mateo. mateo was born on 2/17/11, just over a month old. patty is an old friend of mine, as we were both business majors at loyola marymount university. it's been about 12 years since the last time we saw each other - way too long. eddie, her husband, is a great guy. turns out that it's a small world we also have mutual friends.

eddie's also a marine and works on the choppers that fly to the middle east. everytime i come across someone within the armed forces, i always have to ask if they wouldn't mind putting on the uniform so that i can snap a few photographs. it's an honor to capture the moment and words cannot express my gratitude for their service and sacrifice. the rios family is home filled with love. baby mateo was a great sport, being able to change in different outfits (gotta love the lmu onezie).
